MSG William Blome enlisted in the Active Duty Army in 2007 as an 11B Infantryman. Upon completing One Station Unit Training (OSUT), he was assigned to the 1st of the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) where he served on the Continental Color Guard team, performing military funerals and other ceremonies to include former President Gerald Ford鈥檚 funeral and former President Obama鈥檚 first inaugural ball. He deployed to Zabul, Afghanistan with UNIT 2CR from 2010-2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as a team leader, and culminated as a squad leader in Operation Strong Eagle III. Upon return to Germany he earned numerous foreign awards including his German Armed Forces Badge and Schutzenschur. He returned to the US and was assigned to 3-8CAV at Fort Hood, TX, deployed to Korea and Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. He also attended Bradley Master Gunner School in 2016 graduating second in his class. From 2019-2022, MSG Blome served in 1-63AR, 2ABCT, Fort Riley where he was the battalion Master Gunner, Platoon Sergeant in C, Co, 1-63, and culminated as the Brigade Master Gunner. MSG Blome鈥檚 most recent assignment was as a Brigade Master Gunner with the 120th Infantry Brigade, Division West, Fort Hood, TX. In this position he advised on all tactical lethality training to his Brigade Commander to certify National Guard and Reserve units for their deployments.

MSG Blome has been married to his wife, Casey, for four years. He has three sons Liam, Ian, and Wyatt, a dog named Moose, enjoys all types of outdoor activities, and is an avid hunter.
