WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥� Education leaders that include presidents and chancellors at the largest institutions in the state are coming to the 91导航 Feb. 19 to join President Chuck Ambrose for the production of the premier episode of 鈥淚nside Education.鈥� This new program airs on the university鈥檚 public television station, KMOS-TV, at 7 p.m. Thursday,  Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, and again 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26

鈥淚nside Education鈥� is a quarterly one-hour news and informational television program hosted by President Ambrose. In each edition a panel will examine current and emerging issues within higher education. In the first program, distinguished guests will participate in a round table discussion on issues that include higher education鈥檚  value proposition for Missourians, access and affordability, the impact of federal tax legislation on public colleges and universities, and what the future holds for these institutions.

 This first program  in the series is titled 鈥淭he State of Higher Education,鈥� and includes as panelists Kimberly Beatty, chancellor, Metropolitan Community College; Mun Choi, president, University of Missouri System; Zora Mulligan, Missouri Commissioner of Higher Education; Clif Smart, president, Missouri State University; and  Dwaun Warmack, president, Harris-Stowe State University.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a tremendous honor to be able to interact with this outstanding group of Missouri education leaders,鈥� Ambrose said. 鈥淗igher education faces many challenges, but they are nothing compared to the opportunities our colleges and universities provide. This program will examine the state of Missouri鈥檚 higher education and what we must do to ensure institutions remain a strong value proposition for creating engaged citizen-leaders and talent for economic competitiveness that strengthens the state where we live.鈥�

Ambrose has served as UCM鈥檚 president since August 2010, and has worked with KMOS-TV on a number of other projects during his tenure on campus.

 鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting to be able to collaborate with President Ambrose for the first program in our 鈥業nside Education鈥� series,鈥� said Josh Tomlinson, director of Broadcasting Services at 91导航. 鈥淧ublic broadcasting is part of Missouri鈥檚 educational fabric, and we look forward to sharing this informative program with our 800,000 viewers in 38 counties.鈥�

KMOS-TV plans to record the program during a live discussion from the ballroom of the Elliott Student Union, beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19. Campus members are invited to attend.
