Maintaining compliance with funders and federal regulations pertaining to grants, contracts, human subjects research, and animal subjects research is critical for the 91导航 to continue these activities. OSPRI acts to ensure grant and research integrity at 91导航 by monitoring and reporting the results of compliance/ethics efforts by the faculty, staff, and students. OSPRI is responsible for overseeing the Human Subjects Committee (IRB), Animal Subjects Committee (IACUC), administering compliance training including Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI), and additional regulations including export control and biosafety.

OSPRI ensures that grants and contracts comply with federal, state, institutional,
and other funder regulations. Principal Investigators (PI) are required to complete
necessary RCR training, submit FCOIs annually, certify on time and effort reporting,
monthly budget reporting, and approve expenditures.
Additionally, key project personnel are required to disclose Foreign Talent Recruitment
Program participation.
Grants and Contracts

The Human Subjects Committee (IRB) reviews and approves research involving human participants
well as determining if research does not qualify as eligible for human subjects.
Researchers must complete training to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional
regulations and policies.

The Animal Subjects Committee (IACUC) oversees animal research. Researchers are
required to complete necessary training to ensure the safety of animals and researchers
and maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies.

IBC Membership: The IBC is a University Administrative (UA) committee with the membership structure, qualifications, and training requirements regulated by the federal government.
Meetings: The IBC committee meets semi-annually, in January and July each year. Meetings will be scheduled as needed in the event applications are received outside of the time frame of the normal meeting schedule.
The Institutional Biosafety Committee is a federally regulated committee on campus. The Committee is registered with NIH's Office of Science Policy and is compliant with Sections IV-B-2-a-(1) through IV-B-2-a-(3) of the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules (NIH Guidelines). It was approved on December 3, 2025 and is reviewed annually.
