What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is your launchpad into life at 91导航! During this one-day program, you鈥檒l dive into campus resources, connect with your academic program, and meet with your Success Advisor to review your class schedule and ask questions. You鈥檒l also get a first look at campus life, meet other incoming students, and start building friendships that will carry into your first semester. Orientation is all about giving you the tools, connections, and confidence you need to hit the ground running at 91导航.

Is New Student Orientation required?

New Student Orientation is a required event for all first-time freshmen and incoming transfer students entering UCM for the Summer and Fall semesters. If you are unable to make the scheduled orientation dates, please contact us at orientation@ucmo.edu and we will gladly help find the best option for you!

When should I sign up for New Student Orientation?

If you鈥檙e admitted for the Summer/Fall semesters, you can begin signing up for New Student Orientation starting February 1 through your . If you're admitted for the Spring semester, you can begin signing up in your MyAdmit account starting September 15.

Can my parents / guests come to New Student Orientation too?

Yes! Parents and guests are welcome at New Student Orientation. We offer special sessions just for them so they can learn more about UCM, the resources available, and how to best support you in your college journey.

How long does it last?

New Student Orientation will usually run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this time, you鈥檒l participate in a variety of activities designed to help you get ready for your first semester. A detailed schedule will be sent to you prior to your orientation date so you鈥檒l know exactly what to expect and can make the most of your day.

Should I bring anything with me to New Student Orientation?

What if I can鈥檛 attend any of the New Student Orientation dates?

We offer multiple orientation dates to accommodate most schedules, however if you have a conflict please contact us as orientation@ucmo.edu or by calling (660) 543-4290.

How do I sign up for my classes?

For incoming freshmen students, your Academic Success Advisor will use selections from your orientation registration to build your first semester class schedule. You will be able to see this and make edits during your Orientation date.

For transfer students, you will need to schedule an enrollment appointment with your Academic Success Advisor to enroll in classes prior to registering for orientation. Click here to navigate to the Success Advising webpage, then click "Schedule an Appointment" to get started.
